Hi I am Nicole Mahady, the new owner and director of Mr.
Turtle’s School. I can’t tell you how
excited I am to be a part of this wonderful program. Let me tell you a little
bit about myself. I have been blessed to be a stay at home mom
to my two beautiful children for the past six and a half years. Prior to “mommyhood” I was a full time classroom teacher. I have my BA in both English and Early
Childhood Education as well as my MA in Learning and I hold a State of
Connecticut Professional Educator’s Certificate for Nursery School through
Grade 3. I have spent most of my career
teaching Kindergarten and First Grade in Greenwich, CT prior to starting my
family.
My first introduction to Mr. Turtle’s School came when I was
researching a place for my then 2 year old son to attend. I knew what I wanted but it just didn’t seem
to exist anywhere… until I stumbled upon Mr. Turtle’s School. I knew, on our first day, the value of this program and knew I wanted
to be involved in a school like this someday.
When my daughter came along, there was no question as to what we’d be
doing together when she turned two! Well
my daughter just turned three and is a recent graduate of Mr. Turtle’s School
as of June 2011! During both of my years
attending with my children, I made my love for the program and interest in
being a part of it known to the previous owner.
I was so pleased to know those words were remembered when the time came
for the school to be sold.
As I’m sure you can
guess from my background, I am a firm believer in the importance of early
childhood education. It is, quite literally, the foundation for all of a
child’s future learning. A positive,
anxiety free introduction to school should be the standard for all children and
it is my goal to accomplish that for every child who walks through our doors. I
am looking forward to being a part of this very special time for you and your
child at Mr. Turtle’s School! . I feel truly blessed again to have this
opportunity to get back to the teaching that I love, in a program that I love.
